Modding's always been a key aspect of the STALKER experience, and Bocharov hinted that GSC was exploring ways of bringing STALKER 2 mods to the Xbox Series X/S version, great news for fans of gameplay overhauls like MISERY. Canceled and repeatedly reintroduced, it now has a release date in 2021, promising greatness. STALKER 2 will be the first game in the franchise to launch on consoles, albeit limited to the Xbox Series X and S. 2 is a long-expected game, first announced after Call of Prypiat came out. Bocharov claimed that this time around, A-Life will be significantly more detailed, with enemy NPCs and wildlife fighting with each other as well, not just the player. This may mean cancellation of the game as 'the future is unknown'. To add to this, on 24 February 2022, GSC Game World announced the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 2 is the official sequel to the 00s story arc, which began with 2007s Shadow of Chernobyl and ended with 2009s Call of Pripyat. 2 has been delayed until December 2022 citing 'thorough testing and polishing' as reason.

A lot of those bugs had to do with the games' "A-Life" AI system. Unfortunately, on 12 January 2022, GSC Game World announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I presume you can install the Russian version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat via Steam, and copy the contents of the aforementioned folder of this mod to the /text/ folder of the game.

During the interview, Bocharov reassured long-time series fans that STALKER 2 will be a more stable experience at launch. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a nextgen sequel to the award-winning PC game franchise developed by GSC Game World, set to deliver a unique action experience of survival in the post-apocalyptic Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. STALKER fans are used to a launch experience that makes Bethesda games feel positively polished: Shadow of Chernobyl, for instance, launched with a number of game-breaking bugs that took months to iron out. GSC had apparently trialed out other engines before settling on UE4.
